Terms of service

About these terms

These terms apply when you use www.lisasharpeart.com or buy an artwork, print, gift card or commission from me. Please read them alongside my Privacy Policy, Returns and Refunds Policy and Shipping Policy, which form part of these terms.

Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

Who I am

This website is run by Lisa Sharpe, trading as Lisa Sharpe Art ("I", "me" or "my"), based in Stockbridge, Hampshire, UK. You can contact me at art@lisasharpeart.com.

My online shop is hosted by Shopify.

Orders

When you place an order, you'll receive an email acknowledging it. Our contract begins when I email to confirm your order has been accepted, or when it's dispatched.

I may decline an order, for example if an artwork is no longer available or a price was shown incorrectly. If this happens, I'll let you know and refund any payment in full.

Prices and payment

All prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP). Delivery costs are shown at checkout and explained in my Shipping Policy.

Payment is taken securely through Shopify Payments or PayPal when you place your order.

If a price is shown incorrectly because of an obvious error, I'll contact you before your order is confirmed, so you can choose whether to go ahead at the correct price.

About my artworks

Every original painting is unique and created by hand, so small variations in texture and finish are part of its character.

I've worked hard to show the colours of my artworks as accurately as possible, but colours can look slightly different depending on your screen. Many of my paintings also shift beautifully with the light, so they may look a little different in your home.

Prints are made to order, so each one is printed especially for you.

Sizes are given as accurately as possible and may vary very slightly.

Commissions

Every commission begins with a conversation, and I'll confirm the details with you by email before work begins, including the size, price, estimated timescale and deposit.

  • Deposit: a deposit of 50% is due to begin your commission, with the balance due on completion, before delivery.
  • Timescale: commissions usually take around 8-10 weeks. I'll keep you updated if this changes.
  • Your painting: we plan your palette and its feeling together before I begin. When I feel it's finished, I'll share photos with you, and if there's anything you'd like changed, I'll keep painting until you're 100% happy.
  • Cancellation: deposits are non-refundable once work has begun.
  • Returns: as commissions are created especially for you, they can't be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty.

Delivery

Delivery costs and timings are explained in my Shipping Policy. Your artwork becomes your responsibility once it has been delivered to the address you gave.

Returns and refunds

Your right to cancel and return an order is explained in my Returns and Refunds Policy. Commissions and personalised items are made especially for you, so they can't be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty.

Gift cards

Gift cards can be used on any artwork on my website and never expire. They can't be exchanged for cash.

I keep the copyright in all my artworks, including paintings, prints, commissions and the images on this website. When you buy an artwork, you own the physical artwork, but not the right to reproduce it.

Please don't copy, print, sell or use my artworks or images (including for commercial purposes or AI training) without my written permission. You're very welcome to share photos of your artwork in your home on social media: I'd love it if you tagged @lisasharpeart.

Using my website

Please use my website lawfully and respectfully. You must not try to interfere with how it works, introduce viruses, or copy its content.

I do my best to keep the information on my website accurate and up to date, but I may need to correct errors or change content from time to time. My website may link to other websites, which I'm not responsible for.

My responsibility to you

I'm responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of my breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. I'm not responsible for loss or damage that isn't foreseeable, or for business losses.

Nothing in these terms limits my responsibility where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for your legal rights as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the one shown on my website when you placed it.
